The Records Unit is responsible for maintaining internal document control over all original reports, including all crime, arrest and traffic reports.  Personnel disseminate records and information per court order, State statute and internal policy.

Accident Reports
 are available for $20.00 per report at the Elko Police Department, 1448 Silver Street, Elko, NV. Accident Reports are also available for $26.00 per report online at www.buycrash.com. Contact us @ (775) 777-7310 for more information. If the record you need is for court, have your attorney contact us about obtaining a copy via subpoena.

Records - To obtain a record from the Police Department a Public Records Request Form must be submitted.  Complete the form and return it to the Police Department. There is a $20.00 fee for each report copy requested.

Work Permits If you have never had a permit in the City of Elko you will need to provide the following; picture identification (issued from a state or government agency) and information about past residences, work places, arrests, and convictions. All work permits require Responsible Server Training prior to application.  A fingerprint background check will be conducted. Cash, credit, and debit cards are accepted.

Warrant Note: Please be advised that if you come to the Police Records Unit to acquire a records check or work permit and you currently have an outstanding warrant, of any type, you run the risk of being arrested. If you believe you have an outstanding warrant, please contact the appropriate judicial entity and have it resolved prior to appearing at the Records Unit. If you are not sure which court may have your case, you may have to check with all courts.

  • Sex Worker Permits, changes and renewals $250.00 + $27.00 State Investigation Fee        Sex Worker Application 

  • Brothel Liquor Work Permits, Changes and Renewals $100.00 + 27.00 State Investigation Fee  

  • Solicitor Work Permits $100.00

Felony Convictions: You can be denied a work card for a felony conviction within the last three years. An application must be filled out and reviewed by the Police Chief. If the Chief believes the application should be denied, a work permit will not be issued. There is an appeals process that can be obtained from the Records Office. The appeal will go before the Elko City Council for review.
