The Criminal Investigations Unit is comprised of seven employees specializing in investigations. The Unit is commanded by a Sergeant with support from a Corporal. Each investigator completes hours of specialized training in a wide variety of investigative areas.
With advanced investigative techniques and resources, the Criminal Investigative Unit provides high-quality criminal investigative support to the Elko Police Department by conducting timely and thorough criminal investigations. The unit conducts systematic and methodical investigations to determine what findings the evidence supports.
The Detectives of the Department recognize their responsibilities to the community they serve and are committed to investigating all crimes ethically and impartially with sensitivity towards the needs of the victims.
The Criminal Investigations Unit supports the Patrol Division by assuming investigative responsibility involving major crimes occurring within the City.
