The Records Unit is the first contact you have with the Elko Police Department when walking in our front doors or calling on the telephone. This unit is comprised of three Records Officers. These Officers are there to answer questions and provide records through the appropriate channels. You can contact the Records Division of the Elko Police Department at 775-777-7310

Accident Reports are available for $10.00 (cash) per report at the Elko Police Department, 1401 College Avenue, Elko, NV. Accident Reports are also available for $16.00 per report online at www.docview.us.com. Contact us @ (775) 777-7310 for more information. If the record you need is for court, have your attorney contact us about obtaining a copy.

Crime Reports - If you are listed as a suspect in a crime, the crime report must be obtained from the court. If the crime involves juveniles, that information cannot be disseminated and must be obtained from the Juvenile Office, 665 W Silver Street, Elko, NV  (775) 753-4603

Work permits are issued Monday - Friday 9 am to 3 pm. If you have never had a permit in the City of Elko you will need to provide the following; pictured identification (issued from a state or government agency) and information about past residences, work places and arrests, and convictions, a fingerprint background check will be conducted. Cash only, checks or credit cards are not accepted.

    The following permits are renewable after six years if you do not change employment:

    Work Permits (includes the fingerprint fee):
    Initial Work Permit and Renewals $25.00 + $21.00 State Investigation Fee = $46.00
    Transfer Work Permit to New Establishment $25.00.

The following permits are renewable after one year if you do not change employment:

Prostitution Permit
 $100.00 + $21.00 State Investigation Fee = $121.00 Cash Only

* Gaming Control Fingerprinting Fees are $8.00

**Immigration fingerprinting is done at the Elko County Sheriff Department

Felony Convictions: You can be denied a work card for a felony conviction within the last three years. An application must be filled out and reviewed by the Chief of Police. If the Chief believes the application should be denied, a work permit will not be issued. There is an appeals process that can be obtained from the Records Office. The appeal will go before the Elko City Council for review.
