The Patrol Division covers 17 square miles which comprises the the City Limits of Elko. We handle on average of 15,000 calls for service per year.

Patrol Division handles all traffic accidents within the City limits as well as routine police matters which include crossing guard duty, bank escorts, animal calls, crime calls, funeral processions, parades and much more.

A: When a call is received by the 911 Center, the officer is dispatched to the call. Patrol Division handles all calls for service.

Q:     Can I file a police report on a crime that happened several days ago?
A:     Yes, If the crime happened within the City limits of Elko, go to the Elko Police Department, 1401 College Avenue, during normal business hours to file the report. If you are unable to file the report during those hours, you may request an officer to come to your place of residence or employment.

Q:     What happens if I am involved in an accident on private property?
A:     The Patrol Division will respond to the scene of the accident for driver's information exchange only. A report will not be filed on private property accidents.
