The Elko Police Department presents a "Personal Safety Class" for men and women, either in a neighborhood, business or organization setting. Danger Stranger: 
The Elko Police Department has been presenting "Danger Stranger" classes to the children of Elko, ages 3 to 10 for many years. House Watch Program:
The Elko Police Department provides a house watch service to the public at no charge. This house watch program is activated when you call the police and ask for it. Cadet Program

The Elko Police Department Cadet program educates youths ages 15 1/2 to 20 in law enforcement careers.

Cadets learn tactics, procedures, laws and other daily duties of the police officer. The volunteer program consists of weekly classes, ride-a-longs with officers, bike patrol ride-a-longs and special events security. The program prepares young adults for a career in law enforcement.

Police Reserves:

The Elko Police Department's Reserve Police Officer Program has a rich tradition of community service.Reserve officers assist regular officers with normal patrol duties.

Reserve officers are required to perform 16 hours of service each month and attend weekly training sessions. Reserve officers are taught P.O.S.T.

accredited classes and are encouraged to become certified. Reserve officers work under the supervision of full-time officers and have the same powers as sworn officers while on duty.

Bomb Threats & Suspicious Packages.
The Elko Police Department offers a class to businesses and agencies teaching them how to deal with a person calling in a bomb threat.
