Reporting to the Assistant City Manager, this position is responsible for performing a variety of routine and complex clerical, secretarial, and administrative work; provides customer assistance; provides administrative support; assists in the procurement of departmental materials and supplies in accordance with State and Federal law; researches technical project specifications; ensures that all project records and reports are completed and maintained in accordance with departmental standards and procedures; assists in the preparation of requests for qualifications, proposals, and bids and takes minutes during labor negotiation sessions.
This position requires two years of increasingly responsible clerical and/or technical administrative support experience involving engineering, construction, or related industry. This position also requires a high school diploma or equivalent, supplemented by specialized secretarial training and a valid driver’s license.
The hourly range for this position is $18.44 - $21.40 per hour, plus an excellent benefits package. Reporting to the Fleet Maintenance Superintendent, this position is responsible for performing a variety of skilled and unskilled tasks involved in preventive maintenance, washing and repair of City vehicles and light and heavy equipment. Duties will include, but will not be limited to: reading and interpreting technical manuals and schematic diagrams; performing preventive maintenance according to established schedules; diagnosing mechanical and/or electrical problems; repairing and/or replacing faulty parts; installing and/or maintaining electrical equipment; welding and metal fabrication; preparing and/or maintaining vehicle service records; washing and vacuuming vehicles, and performing related tasks as required.
This position requires a High School Diploma or G.E.D.; one (1) year of experience in vehicle maintenance and repair; and a valid State of Nevada driver’s license. Graduation from a vocational training program in automotive and/or diesel mechanics desirable, but not required. Preference will be given to applicants with recent experience in automotive electronics. The successful candidate must possess all hand tools required for the position.
The salary range for this position is $19.2667 - $21.7696, plus an excellent benefits package. Initial salary will depend upon qualifications.
